STREET TRADING POLICY
The Isle of Wight Council is seeking views on a revised draft Street Trading Policy and is therefore interested in receiving views on the content of the draft Policy from any interested party.
THE GAMBLING ACT 2005
The Isle of Wight Council is reviewing its Statement of Licensing Principles in accordance with Section 349 of the Gambling Act 2005.
The Gambling Act provides for a system of licensing and regulation for commercial gambling in England and Wales and licensing authorities have responsibility for the licensing of gambling premises within their area.
PRIVATE HIRE & HACKNEY CARRIAGE LICENSING POLICY
The Department for Transport (DfT) has advised licensing authorities to consult on any proposed changes to licensing rules that may have significant impacts on passengers and/ or the trade. The Isle of Wight Council is therefore conducting a consultation to seek the views of the trade, members of the public, as well as a wide range of partner agencies and stakeholders, on the review and implementation of its Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Licensing Policy with regards to the proposed changes in line with the Statutory Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle Standards guidance, published in July 2020. Consultation commences for each of the above listed policies on 10 November and ends on 8 December 2021. Each draft policy can be viewed via the consultations tab on
