Meaders Way, Traffic Regulation Amendments

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in exercise of their powers under section 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended ('the Act' of 1984), and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with The Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 has made an order the effect of which will be to:

1. To revoke the following traffic orders -

a) The Isle of Wight Council (Meaders Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Traffic Regulation) Order No 1 2021, that was sealed on the 3 December 2021.

b) The Isle of Wight Council (Meaders Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Traffic Regulation) Order No 1 2021, that was sealed on the 24 September 2021.

2. To introduce 'No Waiting Tuesday 7am to 11 am' parking restriction in the following length of road:
Meaders Road, Ryde, on the south-east side, from a point 15 metres south-west to a point 78 metres south-west of its junction with St Johns Road.

The amendments are being proposed to facilitate the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
This Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on 27 May 2022. Any person who desires to question the validity of any of the said orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the said Act, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this order may, within six weeks of the date hereof, apply to the High Court for the purpose.
