A COUPLE who met at Hamleys Toy Shop in London, Luke Hirst and Kathryn Teague, were married at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Shanklin, on August 12.
The bridegroom, an aquarist at London Aquarium, is the son of Karen Hirst, of Glendower Crescent, Kent.
The bride, a computer science teacher, is the daughter of Christopher and Sarah Teague, of Collingwood Road, Shanklin.
The bride wore an ivory tulle gown, embellished with beaded lace, and a veil with diamante detailing.
She carried a bouquet of blue hydrangeas with white roses and gypsophila surrounded by a mix of eucalyptus leaves and foliage.
She was attended by Emily Acott and Beth Hirst (bridegroom’s sister), who wore sky blue floor-length gowns and carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet. Other attendants were Francesca England and Emmy Mackett, who wore floor-length grey gowns.
Stuart Hirst (bridegroom’s brother) was best man and Andrew Teague, Johnny Teague and Neal Brooks were ushers.
Ralph Hirst was pageboy and wore a navy waistcoat and suit trousers to match the groomsmen.
The Rev Joe Gruszkiewicz and the Rev John Catlin officiated.
A reception was held at Lakeside Hotel and Spa. The couple plan to have a honeymoon in Australia next year.
