I was born and bought up in Bembridge, but left many years ago and I would like to try and contact some old mates, if they are still alive.

The people I am trying to find and contact are as follows: Michael Rodwell, (Sam), last known to me as living at 11, Howgate Lane, Bembridge, and also David (Flogger) Young, who lived in Steyne Road and finally, Patrick Gleason who was then living at 7, Howgate Lane, Bembridge.

I know that most of us, over the years lose contact with each other, which is such a shame. I would be very grateful for any help that readers can give.

I don't have any photos of me with my friends — the only older photo I have of me, above, was taken back in the late 1960s.

I am the one in uniform, at the front of the fire appliance just after we had rolled it on the way to a fire in Ryde. Our station was then left with a Green Goddess until we got a new one.

I left the Island just after the Christmas of 1969 and have now settled down in Waterlooville, but I loved the Island when I was younger and Bembridge was such a friendly little village to grow up in.
