A BOAT caught fire in the early hours of this morning in the River Medina.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Medina Yard, Cowes, at around 12.30am.
Firefighters were assisted by Cowes RNLI and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team.
The vessel, believed to be a RIB, was extinguished, but then sunk.
No one was reported to be in trouble, a spokesperson for Ventnor CRT said.
Once extinguished, the situation was handed over to the harbour master.
