AROUND £10,000 was raised at a charity clay pigeon shoot, held in memory of an Isle of Wight teenager who died of a brain tumour.
The competition, held at Bowcombe View Shooting Ground, raised money for the Wight Brainy Bunch and the teen and young adult ward at Southampton Hospital, in memory of Alayna Morris.
Alayna, daughter of Jan and Aubrey Morris, was 18 when she died in November, after she was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour last March.
The charity shoot was a great success with 146 people taking part.
There was also a raffle and auction.
It was organised by Alayna's aunt and uncle, Anna and Bob Morris, well known in the Island's farming and equestrian community.
Alayna's dad, Aubrey, and her brother, Ben, had a go, having never shot in a competition before.
Anna said: "Alayna would have loved it. She would have been so proud to see Ben and her dad shooting.
"If the boot had been on the other foot, she would have gone out of her way to help at an event like this.
"She was a very brave girl. She held it together throughout her treatment and was absolutely amazing.
"A huge thank you to everyone who supported in any way. All the local farming community pulled together and made the day.
"When we realised we had raised around £10,000, I was in tears. It shows how generous people are.
"We were overwhelmed by the whole event. The atmosphere was amazing and emotional."
