IW COLLEGE hospitality students put their skills to the test by serving food at the county cricket match at Newclose Cricket Ground.
It was the first county championship match staged on the Island since 1962 and saw Hampshire play Nottinghamshire.
College students have been working alongside Italian hospitality students as part of a European funded Erasmus+ skills share project.
A spokesperson for the IW College said: "This offers our learners real world experience at the top level of industry and the opportunity for inter-cultural learning.
"The students provided breakfast and lunch for over 120 guests every day in the executive hospitality marquee over the four day duration of the match.
"We were lucky enough to have beautiful sunny weather, the match saw great crowds every day and event-goers enjoyed the superb food and service provided by our students.
"After the match, Paul Buckland, head of hospitality, was presented with a commemorative painting of Newclose Cricket Ground on behalf of our awesome catering and hospitality team in recognition of their hard work and beautiful food for the VIPs.
"The painting was presented by Graham Cooper and the Newclose Cricket Ground Committee."
