THREE Freshwater shops have clubbed together to donate a unique prize to their local lifeboat's annual raffle.

The specially made gansey — a traditional fisherman's jumper — has been designed by gift shop Whistle and Hound, together with knitwear designer Gail Middleton, of Mrs Middleton's Bookshop and Rabbit Hole Tea Room.

It has been made with Rowan yarn, paid for by JB Fisheries, and knitted by local resident Sandra Pigott.

The jumper, a unique design featuring patterns of waves, flags and the Isle of Wight, is worth more than £200.

It will be raffled at Freshwater Independent Lifeboat's annual fundraiser and grand prize draw in December, alongside prizes worth more than £700.

Tickets will go on sale later this month.
