THE Yarmouth RNLI Lifeboat was called to Yarmouth Harbour in the early hours of this morning (Saturday) after a vessel put out a call for help.

Two people onboard the boat put out an emergency call to be towed into the harbour after they found themselves in difficulty at around 12.41am.

THE lifeboat was able to escort them into the harbour and the Needles Coastguard Rescue Team was placed on standby.

A spokesperson for the UK Coastguard said: "There was a call from two people on the vessel asking to be towed, but after a while they were able to make their own way into the harbour.

"The Yarmouth RNLI was able to escort them and the Needles Coastguard was on standby."
