From Iain McKie, Totland Bay:
Island MP Bob Seely has condemned the Island Housing Plan for being too expansive.
However, this completely contradicts his position we should have a university. The average UK university has 15,000 students, requiring around 4,000 staff.
How can he reconcile a rejection of the Island Housing Plan and its proposed 10,000 new dwellings while wanting to provide accommodation for nearly 20,000 extra people? As befits a former PR person he is trotting out platitudes to make him appear in tune with Islanders’ wishes.
