SIX people were arrested at the Red Funnel Vehicle Ferry Terminal yesterday (Saturday) in East Cowes.

The group, aged between 21 and 22, were all arrested around 3pm at the busy terminal, on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs.

The Red Funnel Vehicle Ferry was delayed as police carried out their arrests.

A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Police said: "Six people have been arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply.

"They are a 22-year-old from East Cowes, a 21-year-old from Newport, a 22-year-old from Gurnard, a 21-year-old from Cowes, a 21-year-old from Carisbrooke and a 21-year-old from Yarmouth.

"They have all been released while investigations continue."
