AN AWARD-WINNING folk singer is bringing his unique voice and persona to the Isle of Wight this coming weekend.

More than simply a folk-singer, the singer-songwriter, musician and proud Devonian, Jim Causley, will be appearing at the Quay Arts centre on Sunday, September 15.

Jim will be singing both traditional and modern folk songs, as well as a number of his own compositions.

Described by Mojo Magazine as “the finest singer of his generation”, Jim is a great all-round entertainer, and one of the most well-loved and respected figures of today’s contemporary roots and folk scene.

A prolific collaborator, Causley is admired for his work with iconic groups, The Devil’s Interval and Mawkin:Causley, as well as playing, touring and recording alongside the likes of Waterson:Carthy, John McCusker and Eddie Reader.

The event is organised by the Quay Arts Folk Club, which is run on a voluntary basis by John Bentley and Mike Butler.

Jim is appearing courtesy of Quay Arts to celebrate three years of the Folk Club and its efforts to support the Quay.
