Join the Island Savoyards this October half-term on a fantastic musical adventure, based on the beloved 1968 film version of Ian Fleming’s children’s book, and featuring an unforgettable score by The Sherman Brothers.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is one family-friendly blockbuster that tells the story of an eccentric inventor, Caractacus Potts (Luke Cumberpatch), who sets about restoring an old race car from a scrap heap with the help of his children Jeremy (George Sales) and Jemima (Ellen Careless).

They soon discover the car they name Chitty Chitty Bang Bang because of the noise it makes, has magical properties, including the ability to float and take flight.

Trouble occurs when the evil Baron Bomburst (Mark Waldron) desires the magic car for himself.

The family joins forces with beautiful Truly Scrumptious (Emily Scotcher) and batty old Grandpa Potts (Paul Stevens) to travel to far away Vulgaria — but will they save the day?

The show boasts a cast of more than 40, with a 12-piece live orchestra, and is one of the biggest productions the Island Savoyards have undertaken.

Proceeds from the sale of show programmes will go to Age UK Isle of Wight.
