EMERGENCY services have been called to a traffic accident in Wootton this afternoon (Saturday).

Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were called to the High Street after a single car came off the road.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We were called to a one-vehicle incident in Wootton. There are two patients in the care of the ambulance service.

"We were called at 3.53pm and two ambulances are still on scene."

Southern Vectis tweeted: "Diversions are in place on the 9 because of an accident. The accident is near Harwoods garage. Our Route 9 buses will divert via Staplers until the road is clear."
