ST HELENS Primary School is hosting a Fun Gala Auction on Friday — a chance for dreams to become reality.

Ever dreamt of driving a Morgan for a day? Or learning to sail with Brading Haven Yacht Club? Or owning a shirt signed by Cristiano Ronaldo, or Lewis Hamilton?

All those dreams, plus many more, can be fulfilled at the school auction at Brading Haven Yacht Club, raising funds for the school.

“We have been delighted by the support we’ve had from the local community, who have donated such a wide variety of lots,” said headteacher, Carl Wake.

“We've received works from well-known local artists like Sue Stitt and Charlotte Hodge Thomas — meals from Hungry Bear, Ganders Restaurant and 33 St Helens.

"We have family tickets to Great Wonderfest and Tapnell Farm, the chance to commission work from local author, Kathryn Rossati, or to benefit from the editing services of Elobeid Editorial.

“We’ve also got some fantastic celebrity lots, including from Paul Weller, Gary Barlow, Usain Bolt, Sir Geoff Hurst and Lionel Richie, which hopefully will pull in the crowds."

Chair of governors, Gary Booth said: “We hope as many people as possible will come along on the night and support us — it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Any businesses or individuals wishing to donate a lot should contact the school on 872442.

Viewing of lots is available from 6pm, and the auction — under the hammer of professional auctioneer, Rex Gully — starts at 7pm.

Auction catalogues can be bought in advance from St Helens Primary School, Brading Haven Yacht Club and St Helens Post Office, or from the door on the night.

Bids can also be emailed to petarainford@sthelenspri.iow.sch.uk
