A FUNDRAISING afternoon tea is being held in memory of a much-loved mother and Brook resident — who died in August.

Margaret Davies was a paediatric occupational therapist who died of oeseophageal cancer at 69 years old, having been diagnosed at Stage 4.

It was her dearest wish to raise awareness of the often fatal disease in its early stages so other sufferers can access treatment before it is too late.

Her family would like raise awareness of oeseophageal cancer and support funding for research and treatment of the condition.

They are holding an afternoon tea in support of the Oesophageal Cancer Fund, at Newport Methodist Church on December 14, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

There will be tea and a variety of cakes on offer as well as information on the Oesophageal Cancer Lollipop Campaign.
