A GIFT Fair for Mountbatten is promising high quality, unique gifts from mainland stallholders, without having to leave the Island.

It will be held at Bembridge Sailing Club, with more than 30 stalls providing a range of festive delights including Christmas cakes and homemade produce.

Shoppers are invited to attend the opening night between 5pm and 8pm on November 29, when the £12.50 entry cost includes wine and canapés.

To reserve a place, email iowgiftfair@gmail.com.

On Saturday, November 30, between 10am and 3pm, the cost of entry is £3.

Rosamond Poncia, Mountbatten trustee and chair of the Gift Fair committee, said: “We have been overwhelmed in previous years by the generosity and support of local residents, as well as our committee who volunteer to put on this event.

"Not only is it a fabulous opportunity to stock up on some really unique and unusual Christmas gifts, but by supporting this event you will be helping families on the Isle of Wight who are going through the most difficult time in their lives.

"Please do come along and have a wonderfully festive experience.”

The fair is supported by sponsors Wightlink, Spence Willard, Rouse Ltd, Kendalls Fine Art and Weaver Brothers Ltd.

The fair has raised nearly £40,000 in the last two years.
