SPECTRUM The Autism Festival is working in collaboration with Origins Theatre Company (OTC) to bring an exciting new play to the Isle of Wight.

Spectrum is holding auditions for The Mask — written by Kevin Wilson of OTC — at the Riverside Centre in Newport, on Thursday, December 12.

"The opportunity to be part of this is open to everyone, regardless of background and experience," said organisers.

"So, whether you're neurotypical, neurodivergent or even an alien from space, we want to see you there, it’s open to everyone.

"We plan to give priority to those who come to the read though, so if you are interested, you need to be there.

"You can read a few sections, or just sit and listen, it's up to you.

"It's going to be fun and very informal.

"And at the end, you will have the chance to let us know if you would like to be involved."

Spectrum are looking for four individuals — ideally a mix of age and gender — who can bring the play to life, and one or two to help backstage.

Each person will be involved in the lion's share of scenes, playing different characters and at times talking directly to the audience, sometimes with script in hand — which means fewer lines to learn.
