ANOTHER Christmas tree on the Island has been vandalised after a Ryde garden centre discovered their tree was targeted in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

Staff at the Busy Bee Garden Centre have made an appeal for information on 'four youths' who were spotted on CCTV vandalising the tree at around 1am.

The garden centre said on Facebook: "Our magnificent Russian illuminated tree costing many thousands of pounds was severely damaged by four youths at 1.10am this morning.

"Lights were ripped off and holes made in the tree, trolleys were destroyed until they finally finished their rampage and caught the 1.43am bus to Ryde.

"Our cameras have recorded the incident, as will have the cameras at McDonald’s and the bus they caught.

"The miscreants are advised to contact Busy Bee urgently accompanied by their parents, failing which they will be prosecuted and claims for damage submitted.

"Please share this post to help us find the culprits. If you have any information please contact us."

UPDATE: A pub near Arreton has also lost festive decorations to vandals after a wooden reindeer was stolen.

The Fighting Cocks pub has called on the public to help them find the ornament that was stolen last night.

The Fighting Cocks said on Facebook: "We do have excellent CCTV of the car park but things are a bit busy at the moment to review it properly.

"We will leave it over the weekend so that there is an opportunity to have him returned to us safely and we'll say no more about it."
