CATCH new group Quatrapuntal when they play at Ventnor Arts Club, with Paul Armfield, on Saturday (December 21).

The Island-based classical fusion group comprises of vocalist Polly Green, with Chris Hirst on mandora/Portuguese guitar, James Halsey on cello and Andrew Knights on cor anglais.

The group has concentrated mainly on recording and are working on a debut album, but this month they are excited to be doing a few live performances.

The style is a unique fusion of diverse elements, with many songs inspired by the seasons or landscapes of the Island.

Chris said: "Polly and I are excited to be working with both James and Andrew, who are renowned classical musicians with very distinguished careers.

"The sound is quite unique and there is certainly nothing else on the Island, or even elsewhere, like this.

"I have lined up some collaborations and the first is with well-known Island singer-songwriter Paul Armfield.

"Next year we will be doing collaborations with a folk band, a theatre group and the Orpheus Singers choir."
