THE Isle of Wight is the unluckiest postcode area in The People's Postcode Lottery.

In 2019, no one on the Island won the £30,000 draw — a disappointing feat equalled only by Rutland.

The postcode lottery has more than three million players, who won 8,220,222 prizes between them the previous year — 2018.

Online housing agent Sell House Fast analysed data to find out which areas have the most frequent winners.

Greater London postcodes were the ones that most often won the £30,000 prize, and statistics showed that in the £3 million draw there were more than double the number of winners in the north of the UK.

The People's Postcode Lottery said players in the Isle of Wight have won more than £4.2 million since 2016. A total of £397,470 was been won in 2019.

In February 2016, £3 million was shared among 112 players in the postcode sector PO30 1, with prizes ranging from £7,098 up to £331,159 per ticket.

In October 2017, one resident in PO38 2DU won £30,000 and another won £60,000.

There have been 78 tickets winning £1,000 in 2019. This week, six players in PO38 3BD won this prize.
