THE British Powerboat Racing Club have announced the dates for the 60th anniversary of powerboat racing from Cowes.

Over the bank holiday weekend of August 29-30, Cowes will once again host the legendary 200-mile Cowes-Torquay-Cowes race, with the return to a format that includes the popular 'pit stop' at Haldon Pier, Torquay.

Teams from around the globe will line up across the Royal Yacht Squadron, Cowes, creating a huge spectacle of modern and historic race boats for powerboating fans.

Offshore classes 1 and 2 will again be supported by a strong contingent of Class 3 and 4 teams, who will race in the popular Cowes-Poole-Cowes race.

Both races are part of the offshore’s governing bodies, the UKOPRA British and World Championships.
