CELEBRATE the Chinese New Year in style this February, at Spirit of the Orient.

The Island’s biggest Chinese New Year celebration is back, promising all the vibrancy, colour and flavours of China’s famous festival — at Robin Hill this February half-term.

Expect a dazzling array of award-winning illuminations and entertainment — featuring a fusion of sound, impressive light exhibits, an interactive 12m dragon procession, light shows and traditional lion dances.

Overlooking the projections across the Woodland Ponds, lion performers will take to the stage for an illuminated dance show, based on traditional Chinese lion dances, in which performers mimic a big cat’s movements to bring good fortune.

Discover and become part of the Chinese dragon procession as it winds its way around the park’s ponds. Legendary in Chinese mythology, dragons symbolise power, strength and good luck.

Tie your hopes and dreams to the wishing tree — legend has it that the higher a wish is tied, the more likely it is to come true.

Kiss your loved one beneath the bows of the marble arch to bring in the new year — rumour has it a kiss shared under these majestic beams will bring luck for another year.

The event is on from 6pm to 10pm daily, from February 14 to 22.

Added extras include a Feed Me Bundle to include a main meal, prawn crackers and drink, or the Valentine Bundle of a meal for two, including prawn crackers, giant marshmallows, two small bottles of prosecco and a goodie bag.
