POLICE were called to St Thomas' Square this afternoon amidst concern for a man's welfare.
Isle of Wight police officers — in three police cars — were called to the area outside Newport Minster at 12.45pm.
A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called to High Street, Newport just before 12.45pm today following a report of a concern for the welfare of a man.
"Officers attended and located the man."
