BEMBRIDGE Coastguard Rescue Team was called to Yaverland yesterday afternoon (Monday) — tasked to reports of a cliff fall/landslide.

At 4.21pm, the Bembridge team arrived at the scene, conducting a search for potential casualties, and informing members of the public in the area of the danger.

A spokesperson for Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team said: "With all the latest weather, cliffs have become very unstable.

"Do not walk too close to the cliff edges, and be aware when walking along beaches of possible cliff falls from above.

"If you see a large cliff fall in areas where people are walking, dial 999 and ask for coastguard."
