WITH rush hour approaching, a number of cross-Solent services are experiencing disruption and cancellations today (Monday) as high winds continue.

Hovertravel services are currently suspended, with a further update expected at 4.30pm, while Red Jet services have been suspended until further notice.

An update on the Red Jet is expected at 5.30pm.

Due to reduced power on one of its ships, coupled with the weather conditions, Wightlink's 5pm sailing from Lymington, and 4.05pm and 6.05pm sailings from Yarmouth have been cancelled.

The 10.30pm Red Funnel vehicle ferry sailing from Southampton, and the 11.55pm sailing from Cowes have been cancelled due to essential maintenance.

Needles NCI reported hurricane force winds on the Isle of Wight this morning.

UPDATE 5.30pm: Hovertravel services remain suspended. The next update is expected at 6pm.

UPDATE 5.45pm: The 5.45pm Red Jet sailing from Southampton, and the 6.15pm sailing from Cowes have been cancelled due to adverse weather.

Red Jet services will return to timetable from the 6.15pm sailing from Southampton, and the 6.45pm sailing from Cowes.

UPDATE 6.36pm: Hovertravel services will resume from the 7.15pm sailing from Ryde, and the 7.30pm sailing from Southsea.

UPDATE 7.06pm: Red Funnel's 7.30pm Southampton to East Cowes vehicle ferry sailing has been cancelled due to a medical emergency.
