NEWPORT Football Club's Sydenhams Wessex League Division 1 fixture at home to Fawley this evening (Tuesday) has been postponed, following a pitch inspection this afternoon.

Port, who lie seventh in the table and beat Whithurch United on Saturday to extend their unbeaten run to nine games, pulled the plug on this evening's game after the referee deemed the Beatrice Avenue pitch in East Cowes to be waterlogged and unplayable.

Their next match will be in the league, away to Verwood Town on Saturday.
