A LEADING Island artist will host an exhibition of original paintings and limited edition prints in Bembridge over four days starting this week.

Charlotte Hodge Thomas opens the doors of her home studio to the public from 10am to 4pm daily from Friday.

Having previously displayed her work at locations such as Quarr Abbey, Isle of Wight Open Studios, Ventnor Botanic Gardens and the annual National Acrylic Painters’ Association Summer Exhibition, the home studio event will be the first of at least ten for Charlotte this year.

She said: “I moved back to the Isle of Wight from London in 2001, having been drawn to the coast which offers such a rich setting for artists.

"My heart was on the Island, and I found myself drawn to Bembridge — an area with coastal views wrapped around it.

"I subsequently turned my home into a gallery, and have recently added a studio, so this feels like an apt place to hold the first of my 2020 exhibitions."

Entry to the exhibition — which runs until Monday March 16 — is free, with a private viewing available during the opening day on Friday.

The studio is based at 24 Walls Road in Bembridge.
