A HELP centre has been set up in the West Wight — where Islanders can volunteer to help those who are self-isolating.

West Wight Sports and Community Centre is coordinating the help centre and is calling for people to carry out jobs such as delivering food, post and prescriptions.

A spokesperson for the community centre said: "The Help Centre has come about following a community meeting where representatives of local churches, parish and town councils, West Wight Timebank, community connector, Just Ask, FYT Bus, fire service, Freshwater Bay residents, Co-op supermarket, West Wight Youth Project and others came together yesterday to meet and discuss how to support the vulnerable and isolated through the current crisis."

Information about the service can be found on the West Wight Sports and Community Centre Facebook page.

People who are isolated can contact the Centre on 01983 752168 or by email on help@westwight.org.uk.
