SUNDAY is set to bring much colder weather across the Isle of Wight.

After a period of warm, sunny weather, it is going to feel much colder this weekend, the Met Office has said.

Sunday will be particularly raw, as northeasterly winds become established across the UK.

During Saturday night, temperatures will fall widely close to freezing.

Temperatures by day on Sunday will struggle to reach double digits, the keen northeasterly wind making it feel colder.

Met Office chief meteorologist Dan Suri said it will be a 'marked change' from the 18 or 19 Celsius we have been seeing this week.

The IW Met Service said we can expect a day of bright spells and occasional cloudier periods on Sunday, with an outside chance of a wintry shower but most places remaining dry.

The wind will be a strong north to northeasterly at 25mph to 41mph.

As we head into the start of next week the weather will continue to stay dry and settled with variable amounts of cloud and sunshine, but temperatures will stay cold for the time of year.
