DATES for the 2021 instalment of the Isle of Wight Festival have been announced following the cancellation of this summer's event.

Next year's four-day music presentation will take place from June 17 to 20, with those who purchased tickets for 2020 receiving the option of either a replacement or refund.

Organisers of the event announced the cancellation on Thursday, following in the footsteps of other global festivals affected by the outbreak of coronavirus.

The likes of Lionel Richie, The Chemical Brothers, Duran Duran and The Black Eyed Peas had all been set to feature on Seaclose Park soil for the first time.

The announced dates look to have averted clashing with the Glastonbury and Download Festivals taking place in the UK during the same month.

Those who have booked ferry travel with Red Funnel, Wightlink or Hovertravel should visit the Isle of Wight Festival website at isleofwightfestival.com/ for information regarding their booking.
