FIRE crews were called to a home in Freshwater yesterday evening (Thursday) to reports of a chimney fire.
Crews from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to a home on Redlake Road in Freshwater at 7.18pm.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We sent one appliance from Freshwater to a chimney that had caught alight.
"Crews were able to ventilate the chimney and check everything was safe. They left the property at 7.47pm."
