HAVING more spare time than normal due to these unprecedented times, I have been reminiscing about some of my favourite memories of my life so far.

During the 80s and 90s, me and my family would visit the Isle of Wight every August.

We stayed at a wonderful hotel called the Braemar in Shanklin Old Village, owned by John and Kay at the start and then Graham and Pam, who were all lovely people.

We had some fabulous times on the Island — Shanklin was probably the loveliest place I've ever been — and met some great people.

I hope one day to return to see if some of the wonderful places are still there but until then thanks to the Isle of Wight for giving me some fantastic holidays and memories
