A NEW Island business has produced and published an addiction recovery guide book with a difference.

Picture Recovery's self-titled book allows readers to explore the dovetailing elements of fresh ideas and tried and tested methods of working through the 12-step recovery process.

Author Lee Cooke said: "Our aim with this book was to create a tool which is not only accessible for those who struggle with reading or writing, but one which can utilise the power of the human mind's ability to attach pictures and images to feelings and emotion.

"We believe this is key to a strong recovery, not to mention the therapeutic nature of expressing yourself in art."

A launch for the book was held on March 11, and included a gallery room with contributed pictures and artwork in conjunction with a host of activities such as a meditation session, inspirational drawing class and a raffle.
