FIREFIGHTERS were called to a large bonfire in Wootton last night (Monday).
Shortly after 8pm, two fire crews from Newport and Ryde were called to the scene at New Road.
The bonfire was extinguished using a hose reel jet, and firefighters stood down at 8.31pm.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Fire Service said: "Our fire crews received a call to Wootton at 8.05pm, and arrived to assist in putting out a large, controlled bonfire."
