NINE Acres Primary School has been accredited with an Artsmark Silver award in acknowledgement of its provision for art for children at the school.

The examining board gave the school the accolade following careful assessment of the platform Nine Acres provides for its children, commending the education facility for allowing pupils a flexible and thorough creative outlet..

The school has seen significant investment in its art classroom, specialist dance and music teachers, and has an art teacher who delivers specific art focused days for each class each term.

A spokesperson for Nine Acres Primary school said: "The school is very proud of this achievement as it recognises the continuous dedication of the staff to provide the children with fantastic opportunities to express themselves through different art forms.

"We are continuing to develop and improve, our next steps are aimed at securing a gold award, which in turn will make the children's learning even more enriching.
