ELDERLY Islanders are smiling thanks to a delivery of pretty potted geraniums.
The idea is the brainchild of an Isle of Wight NHS employee, and it is being supported by community garden project Care In The Garden and Age UK Isle of Wight.

Project Geranium is delivering the brightly coloured potted plants to doorsteps across the Island.

The geranium symbolises good health and friendship.
St Mary's Hospital staff member Steve Double started it all off by buying thirty plants and distributing them.
Now, Care In The Garden, which is based just off the Racecourse Roundabout, between Wootton and Whippingham, has donated 300 plants.
They are being delivered by Age UK Isle of Wight’s network of staff and volunteers.
