RYDE McDonald's drive-thru is set to reopen next week, as the country's biggest fast-food chain prepares to reopen outlets up and down the country.

McDonald's has confirmed it will be opening all of its drive-thrus in the UK next week, following a successful, piloted reopening of 44 outlets.

In a statement released today (Wednesday), McDonald's said all of its 975 drive-thrus will reopen between June 2 and June 4.

The fast-food franchise says it has, on occasion, taken the decision to close drive-thru lanes where demand has impacted local communities or the safety of people or customers, and will continue to work with local authorities and the police.

With smaller teams, it will still be offering a limited menu over reduced hours, and is encouraging contactless payment.

There will be a capped spend of £25 per car.

Perspex screens have been fitted at drive-thru windows, and all employees will have to wear PPE and carry out temperature checks on arrival.

The fast-food giant said it will be releasing the locations of the reopening restaurants on the morning of each day to manage anticipated demand.
