East Cowes man arrested and charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
AN EAST Cowes man has been arrested and charged with possession of an offensive weapon — after police exercised stop and search powers in Ventnor yesterday (Wednesday).
Mitchell Shotton, 19, of Vereker Drive, East Cowes, was arrested at the scene in possession of an offensive weapon.
He has been charged and bailed, to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on June 19.
The South Wight Neighbourhood Policing Team has issued a reminder to those visiting the Island's towns to act responsibly.
