MULTIPLE Coastguard teams and the ambulance service have been called to Whitecliff Bay today (Saturday) after a yacht carrying six people ran aground.
Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat, together with Ventnor and Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Teams arrived at the scene near Bembridge at 10.13am.
Coastguard teams are attempting to recover the yacht, which has been damaged and is taking on water.
Two occupants of the yacht were already ashore upon arrival, and a further four were assisted by the coastguard.
The ambulance service is currently assessing each individual — including one casualty with breathing difficulties.
