IN LINE with the latest Government guidance, the Quay Arts will be reopening on Saturday July 4.

This will be the first stage of a phased reopening, with the team working tirelessly to put all measures in place to provide a safe environment for visitors to the Newport arts centre.

Steps put in place to ensure the safety of all customer include a queueing system; socially distanced table plans; hand sanitizing stations; staff wearing PPE for table service and protective perspex on the main bar.

Opening hours during this phase will be between 10am and 4pm.

The galleries will have a one-way system in place for guidance in regards to social distancing. The exhibition on display in the West Gallery will be entitled the Great Leap Forward, which was running before lockdown.

The craft shop will remain closed for the time being, with the box office relocated to the cafe office.

A spokesperson for Quay Arts said: "As we are following government guidelines, we are unsure when we will be able to resume live events.

"For the time being, we have had shows reschedule for later in the year, and will be in regular contact with ticket holders to any performances affected.

"We are currently working on a risk assessment for the reopening of Jubilee Stores. This may involve reducing class sizes and putting other measures in place — thank you for your patience while we get back into the swing of things."

Support from Arts Council England has enabled a project called Breakout! to materialise behind the scenes during closure. For more information on this, or for general enquiries about the Quay Arts, please visit www.quayarts.org/
