THE family of Freshwater man, Dennis Steel ­— who had been reported missing last night (Tuesday) ­— have thanked all those involved in the search to find him.

An appeal had been put out yesterday for anyone with information regarding a man in his 70s who had gone missing.

Dennis, who has dementia, had last been seen in the Brambles Chine area at around 6pm.

At around 9.30pm, Dennis' son Alistair confirmed his father had been found, and the family have since passed on their gratitude to all those who helped.

"I can’t start to thank everybody that helped tonight," said Alistair.

"Dad is very confused and somehow managed to get a bus with no mask or money, and someone who recognised him from the Facebook post got him to the hospital.

"Once again, thank you everyone."
