SANDOWN Library has reopened following coronavirus lockdown.

Town mayor, Cllr Gary Young, was present as supervisor Jenny Simon and her team reopened the facility on Tuesday.

Cllr Young said: "The library team have worked to ensure the facility was ready to open, and have put in place a range of social distancing and other safety measures, to enable lenders to return books."

Details of new opening times and arrangements are on the IW Council website, and Sandown Town Council hopes to work with the library on projects for the 75th VJ Day celebrations in August, as well as other future projects.

Cllr Young said: "It is really good to see amenities in the town, with the library and Steven Jenkins playground both now opening in a safe and timely manner."
