QUARR Abbey has a new exhibition coming to its art gallery — a first since lockdown.

West Wight artists, Lis Toft and Tim England will be showcasing their 'Blue Room' exhibition — a collection of paintings, ceramics and jewellery centred around the colour blue.

The collection will establish a cool, tranquil space, perfectly in keeping with the Quarr Abbey ambience.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Quarr Abbey's gallery was forced to close and many exhibitions, including Lis and Tim's, could not take place.

With lockdown easing, the gallery is now re-opening and Lis and Tim's June exhibition has been rescheduled for July.

During lockdown, Lis Toft developed a series of porcelain bells called Bathing Belle bells.

The small porcelain swimmers are shaped into bells which jingle in a variety of tones, and will be on display for the first time.

The Blue Room opens on Thursday, July 23 and runs until July 28.

The gallery is open daily from 10am to 4.30pm and entry is free.
