A VIRTUAL footcare event is being held on Zoom, by the Diabetes Group Isle of Wight.

The group is hosting the deputy head of the Isle of Wight NHS Trust Podiatry Services, Stephen Taylor, at its first public Zoom meeting, on Wednesday, August 19, from 12.30pm to 1pm.

Diabetes increases the risk of developing problems with your feet, some of which can be serious and even lead to amputation. However, the risks can be avoided.

Mr Taylor will share his expert knowledge on footcare, and the event will give people with diabetes or those who care about someone living with diabetes, the chance to find out more about podiatry services and changes during the pandemic.

There will be advice on how to ensure the future health of your feet.

Anyone who wants to join can email info@diabetesiow.org.uk and specific questions about annual diabetes foot checks can be submitted by August 17.

Future Zoom events will be advertised on http://diabetesiow.org.uk/ and on Facebook at Diabetes Group IOW.
