POLICE found some cannabis plants growing in Shanklin when they attended a public order incident.

The owner of the plants will be questioned by police at a voluntary interview.

A police spokesperson said on the police Facebook page: "It appears the residents of the address were happy to show off their horticultural skills by having these lush green plants growing on their back doorstep which were located by our colleagues.

"We know these pictures always spark a debate about the legalisation of cannabis but please don’t forget it’s still against the law so we will still continue to deal with it.

"We also don’t write the law.... we are just keeping you updated.

"We were at the address as a result of another incident so will obviously deal with any other offences that we find.

"The owner of these thriving plants will be coming in for a voluntary interview at some point in the future."
