ANOTHER case of Covid-19 has been confirmed on the Isle of Wight — making it the eighth this month.

The lab-confirmed test was found on Monday, September 7th taking the total number of cases the Island has seen to 441.

Since the start of September the figure has risen from 434.

In the month of August only ten cases were found, compared to the eight found in the first nine days of September.

Nationally, 2.659 cases were recorded today in the official government statistics.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is making an announcement this afternoon about some new restrictions being enforced as cases have started to rise again.
