ISLE of Wight comic book writer Russell Sheath held a successful signing event of his newest story for the long running Commando series last week.

Comic book fans turned out to Heroes, the Island’s long-established comic shop in Newport, and saw Russell sign comics and chat with readers about his story Daggers Drawn, which arrived in shops last week.

Rob Mead, the manager of Heroes, said: “During these challenging times, comics are a great way to lift people’s spirits and offer some escapism. Events such as this, even with social distancing, are great and Russell’s second signing was a big success, we can’t wait to have him back.”

Signed copies are still available from Heroes, and Russell is currently working on a series of Isle of Wight based adventure stories for young readers, as well as his next story for Commando.
