A PAIR of award-winning Isle of Wight artists will exhibit their work in Ventnor this weekend.

Jane Cox and Sue Lowday — whose work will be displayed in the the gallery at Ventnor Botanic Gardens from Friday — are renowned for their expertise with ceramics and leather and rope respectively.

Jane specialises in vibrant ceramics, combining elegant shapes with rich translucent glazes.

Emerald blues, greens and turquoises will be on show together with new speckle glazes inspired by the Island shoreline.

For 25 years Jane has been researching and developing earthenware glazes to create a unique glaze palette specific to her work.

Sue has primarily worked with eco-vegetable tanned leathers for more than 30 years, exploring the unique properties of moulding and shaping the leather, while developing unique dye techniques.

Her work encompasses practical everyday items such as belts and bags, ranging through to sculptural formed bags that can be found in museum collections.

Sue is also showing her ethereal metal sculptures inspired by rock formations and the human form.

The exhibition will take place from Friday September 25 to Sunday September 27, from 10.30am to 5pm each day.

Covid restrictions apply, with a one-way flow system in operation.
