I WONDERED if you could mention my mum and dad, John and Hilary Turnham from Essex, on their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married in Brighton on October 24, 1970, and had their honeymoon in Ventnor, and stayed at St Martin’s Hotel, run by Miss Herd.

They fell in love with the Island and have been coming every year since. My dad always reads the County Press so will be gobsmacked to see them in it.

All our childhood holidays were spent in Ventnor and Bonchurch (Westfield Holiday Park in the 80s and 90s) and now they own a holiday place in Bonchurch.

All of us have grown up with the Island having a special place in our heart. All five grandchildren and nine grandchildren.

We want to wish them a wonderful golden wedding anniversary and thank the Island for giving us all 50 years of fantastic memories.
